Just as Your Soul Prospers
Hello! My name is Sharan Coleman and I am a proud servant of the most High God. I bet you don’t hear that often anymore do you? I try very hard to live my life so that everything I do is done under the unction and the anointing of Holy Spirit. My inspiration, or mission is driven by Micah 6:8, which says, “He has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you; to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Therefore it is my mission to do just that. I strive to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God.
Specifically, I hunger to fight the fight of economic equality. That’s my calling. I strongly believe in empowering and strengthening the lower and middle classes to balance the powers of wealth in the nation. Currently, I believe this country is being run by the top 1% of the wealthy. Ever since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Political Action Committee called Citizens United, in the 2010 “Citizens United v Federal Election Commission” case, Corporations and the top 1% can now make unlimited contributions to the politician of their choice. Do you know what that means? It means corporations can and have been BUYING politicians ever since the ruling. As a result, politicians no longer serve the people who elected them, but instead serve the corporations who paid for them.
That’s why social programs are being slashed. Hospitals are closing because they can’t get funding to care for those who can’t afford medical care. Even when the Federal government has passed Obamacare, specifically to make healthcare affordable for all in this Country, certain states like Georgia, refuse to accept it. Thus, those who are without medical care are forced to go to the hospital Emergency Room, which costs significantly more per patient. So for those of you who complain about your tax dollars being used to pay for Obamacare, saying they need to get a job, etc., without Obamacare you tax dollars are actually paying even more because it costs more for the unfortunate to go to the Emergency room than a doctor’s office. And because the patient can’t pay, the hospital has to eat the cost. When the hospital can no longer eat the cost, they are forced to shut down. And when that happens, there’s no place to go for ANYONE, fortunate or less fortunate, in need of Emergency healthcare. Because, contrary to popular belief, there are a LOT of working and middle class people who don’t have healthcare. And finally on the subject, a word especially for you Evangelicals, who complain the loudest, let’s not forget James 1:27 which says, “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God and the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” NLT
These situations are happening all over the country, and there is no one fighting on our behalf. Because the people who we vote to represent us—our elected officials who have the power to actually create change, those who are supposed to serve on our behalf, have been bought and paid for by the top 1% and corporations, as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling. Does that mean we should not vote? Absolutely NOT! Because, America is educating themselves and empowering themselves by researching and looking at the history and records of the electorate. They are beginning to make sound decisions about their representation based on this knowledge, rather than Million dollar commercials of soundbites plastered all over television. As a matter of fact, most people are like me and when they do watch TV, they pre-record the show simply so they can fast forward through the commercials. I believe, eventually, the American voters will be so informed and begin to vote for the candidate who represents them the best. I pray and believe that the American voters will lay aside the tribalism voting, which often serves against their own interests, and vote the candidate who refuses to be bought, and has a proven record of serving their constituents. The candidate who refuses to take PAC money so they cannot be bound to the highest bidder, but can freely serve their electorate.
Furthermore, it’s time to help ourselves by creating and building our wealth. It’s time to educate ourselves financially. It’s time to learn about the systems which are designed to keep us poor and uninformed. Think about it, there’s a reason we never were taught financial literacy in school, even though it’s critical in order to create wealth. Who benefits when we get bogged down in credit card debt? Who benefits when we live paycheck to paycheck? Think about where the check comes from and where they go. Who benefits when we try to obtain the “American Dream” by buying a new housed, and that house is taken from us when we can’t afford the new payments of an exorbitant variable interest rate? That family certainly doesn’t benefit. There is a blow to your soul when you have a setback like that. It can sometimes set you back so far, mentally and emotionally, until you can’t come back from it. Yet so many people have experienced this situation and were setup to experience it.
I am a physical, spiritual, mental and emotional disrupter. I have never been satisfied with the status quo, especially when people are being harmed through lies and deception, unnecessarily. As I stated before, my mission is to make the crooked places straight. (Isaiah 45:2). To right the wrong. Like the Prophet Isaiah said, Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low. Everything in the dark shall come to light. Every deception, every strategically planned financial harm shall be exposed. If nothing more than to be a voice crying in the wilderness, (Like John the Baptist) saying prepare ye the way of the Lord, I am His vessel of Honor to do it. For I am not my own. I have been bought with the price of the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I live to serve Him. And He has anointed me to help bring people out of darkness, out of poverty and out of mediocrity into the prosperity He has promised us. For His Word says in 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. The last part of that sentence means this is not some prosperity message. The end of the sentence says “as your soul prospers.” The word “Soul” here means “your mind, your thoughts and intent, “the seat of will and purpose.” That means prosperity is not just about money. And there is no prosperity without the Creator of all things. He has a purpose for everything and everyone. His wealth comes when your soul lines up with His purpose for you. And if you are desiring wealth just to do your own thing and not what He created you to do, then this is not for you. Because I am all about success and there is no success in that. There is no success without Christ. God is Love, and Love is selfless, not selfish. That’s why He has given us the authority to take the wealth that rightfully belongs to us, as His children. It is our inheritance. Thus, the Bible says in Proverbs 13:22, “Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the sinner’s wealth passes to the Godly.” NLT. We need to make it our business to build generational wealth. Not just for ourselves, but to level the playing field for generations to come.
